Follow Friday & The Blog Hop (1): 3 Authors & Can't Get Into

It’s Follow Friday (and my first, so bear with me as I try to get this right).  I have been looking at other blogs and I’m not sure if I have this right, but it seems that there is a weekly question and we just post & answer it, and then you leave comments then continue hopping from blog to blog (I hope that’s right).
Here goes the first FF:
Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee.
This week's question is:

Q. Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from?

Ally Carter; I’m absolutely in love with her Gallagher Girls series & plan to start her Heist Society series very soon.  I missed the only signing she had so far on the East Coast in my area, because I was at college 3 hours from home without a car a couple years ago, so I sent my parents to the signing to get Heist Society signed for me. =)
Tera Lynn Childs; I just finished Fins Are Forever (Fins 2) last night (review will be up this weekend), and cannot get enough of these books.  I would love to sit down with her and really get a feel for where she gets her inspiration for the series she writes.
J.K. Rowling; I don’t think I have to explain this one since she’s the author of the single best series of my childhood (which regrettably I haven’t finished… yet, but I plan to - and I've seen all the movies, so I get what happens).

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Crazy for Books.
 This week's question is:
Q. What's the ONE GENRE you wish you could get into, but just can't?

I would have to say historical non-fiction because I love learning about history, but I can’t read about it for some reason the books tend to bore me, but if I hear things from my dad about history (because he reads historical books all the time) I love it.  It makes me feel like in school they never taught us enough, or not enough of the important things anyway, because there is so much history that I’ve missed out on.  I am hoping that my college level history class next summer will teach me something more than what high school did.

  1. Find an era of history you're interested in and look for books on that subject. Since last week's pie chart about where I get my books was so popular, I thought I'd share what types of books I do read. Please stop by to see which genres I don't typically read.

I love comments! They make me super happy, I read all of them and try to respond to most of them!

This is now an award free blog, I'm super flattered to be chosen for awards, but I can't find time to complete the requirements to pass them on. Thanks!
