This week's question is:
Q. Let's step away from books for a second and get personal. What T-Shirt slogan best describes you?
I went on Cafépress (idea stolen from Alison Can Read, because I don’t pay attention to shirts that describe me). Anyway, I immediately found a bunch that describe me, first I looked for ones about reading because I read a lot, but then I took a step back and looked at the question again and decided to just look for random life quotes that might describe me… here’s what I came up with:
- My mom actually saw this shirt at the boardwalk and told me I should get it because it’s totally true of the two of us.
- I am always confused, my friends tell me I'm blonde at heart.
- I definitely know I’ve said something like this to friends before.
- This one fits with the theme of the blog, every night my mom tells me to go to bed early & I still end up late reading.
- I thought this one was funny, apparently I'm worth knowing because I have no more room for the books in my room.
- This one is actually a clock and I feel like I need to buy it right now to hang in my college house =).
- Of course there’s no such thing.
- Because I'm addicted to reading

On to the blog hop… This week's question is:
Q. Highlight one book you have received this week (for review, from the library, purchased at the store, etc.) that you can’t wait to dig into!
Earlier this week I bought Abandon by Meg Cabot. I got it from the Borders sale for my birthday. I had planned to read Lois Lowry’s Gathering Blue and Messenger next, but now I think I might read Abandon first because the cover and synopsis look amazing. I was looking at the books I’ve read and realized I haven’t read anything by Meg Cabot, even though I have a lot of her books in my TBR pile and even a couple others on my shelf. Abandon just seems like it’s going to be a good book and a big change from Matched, I don’t like to read similar books one after another. I love mythology stories and the story of Persephone is one of my favorites. I loved Aimee Carter’s take on the story of Persephone, so I’m excited to read another take on the legend.
Oh, Abandon looks and sounds awesome! I LOVE the t-shirts!!!!!

Hi, there! Thanks for commening on my Book Blogger Hop, and becoming a follower!! Now I'm returning the favor!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog! The designs in the margins are soooo beautiful! And your content is great, too~!!
The T-shirts are just perfect for book lovers. Several of them describe me, too. Lol.
I bought Meg Cabot's "Abandon" at a book presentation last week. Meg signed it and everything!! I really should have featured that book instead of "Dark Awakening". You know what? I might just revise my post!
Thanks for sharing!! : )

ReplyDelete@Maria, I'm very jealous that you got to have it signed! I love author signing events, it's so great to meet the geniuses behind our favorite books, and I definitely think Abandon will become one of my favorites.

Hi, again, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know I was VERY lucky to have this book signed!! I'm also very lucky that this bookstore is so close to my house (10 minutes away!), and that they hold these events every single day of the year!!!! YAY!!!!
I sure hope you get to go to a great event where you can get a book signed! If you don't have any bookstores hosting these events near you, go to the Books and Books website. I think they'll ship a signed book out to you. They do that for people who can't attend their events -- for local people for sure. They might do it for those who are not in the area, too. Just send them an e-mail.
