"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted
by Jill at Breaking the Spine
that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week I’m featuring Ally Condie's upcoming release of the second novel in the Matched Trilogy: Crossed.
Title: Crossed
(Matched Trilogy #2)
Author: Ally Condie
Publisher: Penguin
Young Readers Group
Pages: 384
ISBN: 9780525423652
Release Date: November
1, 2011
Description:
The hotly awaited second book in the dystopian Matched trilogyIn search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.
Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.
Why I’m excited: I just pre-ordered this book yesterday
actually, I can’t wait until November :).
I love the way Cassia is bursting out of the “Societal Bubble” on the
cover. The color is so pretty too, it’s
the color I want to paint my car (that light blue), which has nothing to do
with why I’m excited for the book, but still.
I LOVED Matched (my
review) so I’m really looking forward to seeing where Ally Condie takes
Cassia, Ky, Xander and all the rest of the characters. I definitely recommend Matched for anyone who
likes dystopian novels (which I’m reading a lot more of lately).
Preorder Crossed from Amazon (Hardcover or Kindle) or Barnes & Noble (Hardcover or NOOK Book)
What are you
looking forward to this week?
Yes, loved this, too! I love how it ended, can't wait for Crossed to see where the series goes. :) Great pick! (and Ally Condie is the sweetest thing ever!)
