The Emerald Isle - Blog Tour

Hi. I’m author Kate Hinderer and I’m lucky enough to be guest posting for the day as part of the blog book tour for The Emerald Isle. This book is part paranormal, part contemporary fiction and has adventure, romance, suspense, and a whole lot of sand. To pique your interest I thought I’d pull a few choice sentences from a couple chapters in the book. Hopefully you enjoy reading these and finding them again in the full context of the book.

Prologue: The sensation of drowning is like nothing else in the world. One moment you breath as normal, head above water, oxygen entering through your nose, filling your lungs; and then the next moment your head dips underwater and stays there. After the first several seconds of struggle, maybe longer if you are strong, fear sets in as your body uses the last of its stored oxygen.

Chapter Two: “You are very pretty. Tristan’s only a year older than you. He doesn’t have a girlfriend, not really anyway. I’ve never seen him act this way. Maybe you speak to him on another level.” She sounded like a breathless schoolgirl, chattering on about her best friend’s secret crush.

Chapter Five: Inexplicably, my heart started to race from fear. I looked out at the resort guests counting heads, making sure I hadn’t sensed danger before seeing it. But everyone was just how he or she had been a moment before. I glanced over at the advancing figure again. He was less than 200 feet away now. His face turned in my direction and at that moment I knew I was his target destination. The fear I felt kicked up a notch.

Chapter Eighteen: I opened my mouth to scream again, just as a wave reared its head. This one was taller than the rest. It slammed into me with intention, knocking me down and dragging me out to sea.

Chapter Twenty: Grateful she was still little, I hoisted her cold body into my arms and began moving slowly toward the steps that lead into the tank. One foot on the bottom step and my arms shaking from the strain of carrying her limp form, I nearly dropped her when a head shot out of the water, gasping for breath.

Awesome quotes, right? You all want to go find this book and read it, right? Me too! You can find Kate's books at the following places:

I love comments! They make me super happy, I read all of them and try to respond to most of them!

This is now an award free blog, I'm super flattered to be chosen for awards, but I can't find time to complete the requirements to pass them on. Thanks!
