Waiting on Wednesday (3): Half-Blood by Jennifer L Armentrout

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I’m featuring Jennifer L. Armentrout’s upcoming release Half-Blood.

Title: Half-Blood (Covenant #1)

Author: Jennifer L Armentrout

Publisher: Spencer Hill Press

Pages: 281

ISBN: 9780983157200

Release Date: October 18, 2011

Description: The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi—pure-bloods—have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals—well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:
Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.
Unfortunately, she’s crushing hard on the pure-blooded Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn’t her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Why I’m excited:  I have been hearing amazing things about this book around the blog world, and after reading that description, I definitely think it’s going to be a great read.  I have it’s prequel, Daimon which I’m reading next week, in my eBook library (which can be downloaded here for free, or purchased through the BN Nook Book Store for $0.99).  The cover of this book is what attracted me to it, but I heard about it through Teaser Tuesday at Stuck in YA Books.  The teaser there absolutely hooked me. Anyway, I’m excited for this book to release so I can add it to my ever growing TBR pile in my room :).

Preorder Half-Blood from Amazon or Barnes & Noble

What are you looking forward to this week?

P.S. The YA Crush Tourney that’s going on over at YA Sisterhood ends today, so you should go vote… soon… like now. :) Oh, and vote Zach Moore, #TeamKilt :)

I love comments! They make me super happy, I read all of them and try to respond to most of them!

This is now an award free blog, I'm super flattered to be chosen for awards, but I can't find time to complete the requirements to pass them on. Thanks!
